Incentive FM were awarded the soft services contract at Manchester Arndale in early 2017 at one of the biggest shopping centres in the UK. Manchester Arndale is approx. 1,500,000 sq ft and has over 40 million visitors per annum. Through a team of nearly 200 staff Incentive provide cleaning, security, back of house and management services to this iconic scheme.
The Manchester Arndale has a retail floorspace of just under 1,500,000 sq ft (140,000 m2), making it Europe’s third largest city-centre shopping mall. It is one of the largest shopping centres in the UK with 41 million visitors annually.
In 2016, CBRE acting on behalf of the The Manchester Arndale invited tenders for the supply of facilities management services to this retail giant. Following a very comprehensive and competitive tendering process, the contract was awarded to Incentive FM with a go live date of 1 March 2017.
Incentive then embarked upon a quick mobilisation of the contract, holding group presentations and inviting every member of staff to a one to one consultation.
A full SHEQ Audit was completed prior to transfer; producing acceptable and positive results with no major compliance failures. Challenges were identified, recorded and dealt with swiftly. All new equipment and vehicles required which were identified during the tender process were sourced and delivered in readiness for day one, this included full training for the operatives. Risk Assessments, method statements and insurances were reviewed, amended and in place, signed off by all staff prior to Go Live; ensuring our H&S ethos of “Safety is not an accident, it’s a choice, choose wisely” was instilled from day one.
Spot Awards using the IFM Ambassador recognition scheme were implemented from day one; engaging hearts and minds along the way.
